40 Under 40

Our Achievements

Both Ken Parsons and Ryan Parsons were both honored with the prestigious award, from the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce of 40 Under 40. The 40 Under 40 awards are given to 40 individuals under the age of 40 that are viewed as the movers and shakers in their industry or field. In order to be considered you have to be nominated, and there were over 100 applicants submitted. Brian Altmann of DBS Remodeling was kind enough to recommend us. Read Brian’s recommendation letter here. Never before was the award given to two individuals from the same company, and never before to siblings.

We were honored with a large dinner at the Mid Hudson Civic Center attended by over 600 people. It was the highlight of our year and really made all of our hard work seem worth it.

Article from the Poughkeepsie Journal
The Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce honored young and rising business stars at its fourth annual Forty Under 40 Shaker Awards.

Each of the honorees at the event, which was held at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, received an engraved silver martini shaker in recognition of their motivation, drive and willingness to succeed in business, as well as for their support of community initiatives.

"I think that it is really important to celebrate talent, innovation and the future of the Hudson Valley," chamber President Ann Meagher said. "In these difficult economic times this is particularly important to do. These individuals represent innovation and business success. They are the real deal."The chamber received more than 100 nominations for the award this year, said Karolyn Osborne, the chamber's vice president of programs and development. The recipients are selected by previous Forty Under 40 winners.

The selection committee reviews and evaluates nominees based on criteria that include values such as achievement, experience and innovation, vision, leadership and community involvement.

The Parsons brothers - Ryan and Ken - own The Brothers That Just Do Gutters firm in LaGrange.

"We've been in business for 10 years and being recognized tonight in front of this many people is really an honor for us," Ryan Parsons, 31, said.
