We welcomed Kate, our first child, into the world in January 2021 and have been over the moon since. We are very active with Holding Forth the Word of Life Ministries. It is a local church that we both love and have been employed by in various roles since we started there 15 years ago.
My first experience with gutters came back in 2002 when my dad purchased an old 6″ Knudson machine and he started hanging gutters. I worked with him throughout high school until I went to college. I was a junior in college (2010) when I read the writing on the wall and decided that I didn’t want a degree. I just wanted to join the workforce and start working. I began working with my dad building homes. At that time, he had faded from the gutter business and the machine was sitting unused. In 2011, I pulled it out of storage and started installing gutters on the weekends with the referrals he would receive. In 2016, I started full-time and have been moving forward ever since. It has been a blessing to us and I couldn’t be happier with how everything has gone.
I first became aware of The Brothers that just do Gutters franchise back in 2018 and was intrigued. At that time, it was still me and a part-time helper installing daily, with me being the lead worker. I began following some of The Brothers that just do Gutters franchisees on Instagram. I have learned a lot over the last couple of years just by observing online and seeing the new (The Brothers that just do Gutters) franchisees start-up and grow. I now have 5 employees. I finally decided to at least reach out explore what it would look like if I were to join the Franchise. My business had grown to a certain level, but became stuck where it was. I feel like The Brothers really have it figured out. I spoke with Nathan, Ken, and Luke and began to seriously pursue joining the team. After visiting The Brothers that just do Gutters headquarters in upstate New York and meeting the rest of the team, I am pumped to open a franchise location in the Augusta market. We now have the tools and systems in place to help me and my growing team to scale up and provide five-star service to even more clients.
