Gutter Guard FAQ

Q: I live in a house with lots of trees and have spent a lot of money on several expensive gutter guards. How do I know your security gutter guard system will work?

A. Mesh guards have been available since the early 2000s. Since then, we’ve sold millions upon millions of feet of gutter guards. They can funnel significant amounts of water while preventing even minute particles like sand from entering. We also provide a warranty to back up our merchandise (ask your Solutionist for more details).

Q. Are mesh gutter guards maintenance free?

A. There is no such thing as a gutter guard that does not require maintenance. Run away if a representative from any gutter guard firm in the world makes such a thing. Your gutters are your first line of defense against major water damage. Above all, our mission is to keep your gutters clear and to keep you from having to clean the dirt from the inside of your home. Generally, the product will shed with the breeze, but on some properties, the debris may need to be readily brushed off the surface.

Guards In The Winter

Q. How do mesh guards do against snow & ice?

A. Mesh guards help to keep the gutter from becoming overly clogged with snow and ice. We employ a guard product with a 4x stronger understructure than any other guard on the market. This allows you to considerably strengthen your gutter system, allowing it to bear the weight of snow and ice. Similarly, the mesh design immediately freezes, forming a bridge between the snow/ice and the inside of the gutter.
As a result of the sun warming the roof, the snow on the gutter’s front edge melts. So, once the snow has entirely melted, the mesh will begin to let water through. During the melting process and throughout the winter, clients may encounter icicles. Many installers and homeowners believe that mesh guards can assist reduce ice damming because they allow snow and ice to melt off the front of the gutter. Instead of filling the gutter and climbing higher and higher up the roof.

Q. Do mesh guards cause ice damming?

A. This is a common concern regarding gutter guard FAQ. Ice damming in a home is usually caused by insufficient attic insulation. Even without gutters, a home with asphalt shingles will have ice dams. Before considering your guards, it is critical to adequately insulate your property. If you have insulated your attic space but are still suffering ice damming, we offer a heated gutter option to help you cope with the problem.

Style & Sizes

Q. What sizes are available?

A. Our guards come in 5″ and 6″ gutters.

Q. How are they installed on the gutters?

A. The guards we use are intended to overlap, eliminating the gaps observed in some alternative guards. The front of the guard is zip screwed into the gutter lip, and the back is zip screwed to the house fascia under the drip edge. This eliminates water dropping behind the gutter.

Q. Can I install mesh guards myself?

A. An authorized dealer must install professional mesh guards. To install the guard we employ, our crews must pass an installation training session conducted by the manufacturer. One of the reasons why specialists are required to perform this installation is their ability to prevent unforeseen complications. Before adding guards, make sure your gutters are completely functional. It is also critical that the installation be performed by a competent installer to ensure that all panels are fitted and pitched correctly.

Q. Is there anything else I should do once my guards have been installed?

A. On the second good rain after installation, we ask that you bring a raincoat and an umbrella. (We say second because the product may contain oils and lubricants from the production process. This will self-clean during the first rain following installation.) Look for any areas on the house where water may be overflowing the gutters. Make a note of any locations where water is flowing over the gutter. As a result, we will return and make the necessary adjustments. Following that, it is always necessary as a homeowner to ensure that there are no problems with your home.

Sales Experience

Q. Another company’s salesperson stated that they, too, have a lifetime warranty. Why do so many businesses provide a lifetime warranty?

A. This is a common marketing technique. When a gutter guard company gives a lifetime warranty, it usually implies they will come out and clean your gutters for free. This means you are on their schedule, and that could result your gutters being clogged for weeks.

Q. I’ve noticed a few other products that make use of stainless steel mesh. What’s the distinction?

A. Each product has a unique collection of attributes that set it apart from the competition. As a result, we have made it our mission to thoroughly investigate all goods we give to our clients in order to ensure that we are providing the optimum mix of characteristics to protect and strengthen the gutter. We are constantly updating our gutter guard FAQ. The guard we employ has an adaptable mesh that allows it to adapt to different scenarios. As a result, the mesh can be changed without having to reinstall the guard.

Q. Some of the salespeople who have appeared have been really pushy. Do your salesmen behave in this manner?

A. It’s a shame that some organizations push their salesmen to do whatever it takes to get a sale. Doesn’t that seem like a bad choice? Instead of selling, we decided to take a new approach by solving. This entailed meeting with the homeowner and listening to them in order to discover the best answer for their specific scenario. As a result, we changed their title from Salesmen to Solutionists. The Solutionist will measure and inspect your gutters before providing you with a written proposal. We prefer that all homeowners attend the estimate in order to not only hear the presentation but also to assist the Solutionist by listening to any difficulties you may be having with your gutters. Most importantly, this can go a long way toward ensuring your complete contentment.
