About "The Brothers that just do Gutters"

The Brothers that just do Gutters did not originally start out with that name. In 1999 Ken Parsons started the business under the name Waterfall Seamless Gutters after leaving the teaching industry. In 2002 Ryan Parsons joined the team as a helper when the graphic design company he was working for folded, and eventually became part owner with his brother Ken. In 2006 the brothers were forced to change the name from Waterfall Seamless Gutters to Water-flow Gutter Solutions, because the name was too close to the Waterfall Gutter Guard System name, which is a gutter protection system. The slight change from Waterfall to Water-flow seemed to make them happy. The good thing that was a result of having to change our name came the made up word; Solutionist©. We decided we no longer wanted to be salesman, presidents or owners but rather Solutionists©, which embodied what we represent to our clients. Ken Parsons was re-entitled Senior Solutionist©, and Ryan Parsons became Chief Solutionist©.

The final name change came in 2009 after using “The Brothers that just do Gutters” as a tag phrase in a radio campaign. While the tag phrase was wildly successful and memorable it began to confuse our clients. When we would answer our phone as Water-flow Gutters, there would be a pause, and then a confused, “I’m sorry I was trying to reach ‘The Brothers that just do Gutters’”, and we would then have to explain that we are The Brothers that just do Gutters. So after fighting it for months and confusing countless clients, we decided to go with the name people remember and love to say; “The Brothers that just do Gutters.”

Ken Parsons

Ken Parsons graduated college in 1996 with a degree in History and began teaching shortly after college. During the summer Ken got a job working as a gutter installer for a local company. As the summer was coming to an end, Ken made a very important but difficult decision and decided he was going to learn the gutter trade and eventually start his own business. In 1999 Ken basically threw his degree and career right into the gutter and started what is now known as “The Brothers that just do Gutters.” In 2002 Ken had grown the business to a very successful level, but realized the plans and vision he had for the business would require the help of a partner. That's when Ken brought in his brother Ryan Parsons.

Ryan Parsons

Ryan Parsons was just finishing up college when Ken Parsons began his lengthy recruitment process. Ryan resisted for two years while working in a career as graphic designer for a startup company. That company fell victim to the .com/.bomb market eventually causing the company to close. Ryan decided he would go to work for his brother Ken while looking for another job in the design field. Little did he know that he would catch the contagious vision that Ken had for the business and apply his unique skills to the business. Ryan became co-owner in 2004 and is now the Chief Solutionist© for The Brothers that just do Gutters. The two brothers combined their unique skill set to grow the business to what it is today.
